NOTE TO THOSE LOOKING FOR A SEAMSTRESS:
When you hire anyone to do sewing for you, make sure you
both agree beforehand about what exactly you are paying for. Who will
buy the fabric? What will shipping cost? What about those other
items often forgotten about, the thread, zippers, elastic, lace, etc.
who pays for that? This is especially important if you will be
selecting your own fabric and sending it to who you have hired. Many
times a customer will send fabric to be made into a garment and only pay for
labor. Perhaps both parties forgot to discuss the above mentioned
items (thread, zippers, etc) and the seamstress is either forced to raise
the price, or to pay for it herself, thus lowering her profit. Try to
get all the details in writing and remember that most of the ladies on this
site offering their services are stay at home moms just trying to help other
families who desire to dress modestly. |
